Spend the night in the Moroccan Sahara!
A 2-day unforgettable desert adventure with a once-in-a-lifetime experience of spending the night in the Sahara. With the air crisp, clean and clear, the stars so close you can almost touch them and a silence that is almost deafening.
On the way to the desert you will pass the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass and several Berber villages, riverside oasis and Kasbahs. You will ride camels, watch a breathtaking sunset and sunrise as well as spend a night in a Berber tent.

For Atlas Trekking you need to prepare as you would for walking in any mountain region; it can be warm and sunny during the day but the weather in the mountains can quickly change from sunshine to snow and cold winds (autumn through late spring). Please do not leave any rubbish behind you; carry out what you carry in.
Atlas Treks are tailored to match the season and your level of fitness. You have the choice of basing yourself in Berber Guesthouses, from where you can take daily walks, or you can Atlas Mule Trek for 2+ days. On mule treks you usually have the choice of staying in Berber Guesthouse/with families or wild camping in 2-person tents. In addition to regular packing, here is a Check List for Atlas Trekking:
Pick up from your riad / hotel in Marrakech by your personal driver in 4×4 car. You will cross the High Atlas via the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass, with stunning scenery and panoramic views. When you arrive in Ouarzazate you will visit the Kasbah of Taourirte then you will continue your journey to the Draa Valley and the city of Zagora through the Anti Atlas via the pass of Tiniffift. Before sunset, you will arrive to the desert of Mhamid at the foot of the dunes of Erg Lihoudi for a camel ride and to see the great sunset on the dunes. Overnight camping in a desert Berber tent.

After sunrise and breakfast at the foot of the dunes of Erg Lihoudi, you visit the village of Tamgroute known for its Koranic school, old library and the potters quarter. Then you drive along the Draa Valley with its beautiful date palms and fields of henna. After you cross back over the Anti Atlas you will arrive at Ait Benhaddou and visit the famous Ksar (fortified village) of Ait Benhaddou. Finally, you will drive along the valley Ounila, also called the valley of salt, and cross back over the High Atlas to return back to your hotel in Marrakesh.
