In the higher elevations you’ll find mostly evergreen alpines with some occasional undergrowth, while the lower elevations have diverse valleys of walnut, apple, cherry and other fruit trees as well as mountain orchids, poppies and irises.

For Atlas Trekking you need to prepare as you would for walking in any mountain region; it can be warm and sunny during the day but the weather in the mountains can quickly change from sunshine to snow and cold winds (autumn through late spring). Please do not leave any rubbish behind you; carry out what you carry in.
Atlas Treks are tailored to match the season and your level of fitness. You have the choice of basing yourself in Berber Guesthouses, from where you can take daily walks, or you can Atlas Mule Trek for 2+ days. On mule treks you usually have the choice of staying in Berber Guesthouse/with families or wild camping in 2-person tents. In addition to regular packing, here is a Check List for Atlas Trekking:
After a transfer to Imlil we start walking towards the valley of Tacheddirt, passing by Tizi ‘n Tamatert (2279m) to arrive at the village of Ouanesekra (2200m) in the valley of Tacheddirt. Here we spend the night in a Berber gîte or in tents. Approx. 4 hours walking.

We start walking from Tacheddirt towards Timichi (2000m), passing by the Tizi ‘n Tacheddirt (3172m). After the pass we descent past the villages of Ibbasen and Timichi. We spend the night in a Berber gîte. Approx. 6 to 7 hours walking.
B/L/D
Today we walk from Timichi towards Setti Fatma (1700m). All along the journey there are Berber villages in the valley: Tiourdou, Anfli, Tadrart, Chiker. After lunch we continue via Agadir ‘n Aït Boulmane and on to the centre of Setti Fadma. If there is enough time we will visit the waterfall in Setti Fadma before returning to Marrakech. Approx. 4 to 5 hours walking.
